Check your stats, see which terms convert, I suggest using hittail which has a built in feature that suggests new keywords based on your long tail traffic patterns (a simply brilliant program designed by Mike Levin). Then you will not waste any time going after the wrong terms which after months yield only marginal results.

A particular tool which i find makes it much easier to implement the long tail method of seo is called hittail. All you have to do is place their code on your page and it tracks which keywords you are being found for and makes suggestions about which ones you should mention more on your site. This is much easier than going into your stats and trying to figure it out from there, in my opinion.

[HitTail] does make access to the referrer information easier and then tracks it better than some other stat systems and because of that I do think it may assist in some ways. For some people it will be very useful indeed.
